Payment gateway integration
Connect a selected payment gateway to your platform’s deposit, payout, wallet and accounting processes.
The integration in practice
Each provider has its own authentication, callback, refund and settlement rules. The connector must normalize only what your platform actually needs.
Core interface requirements
- Gateway credential exchange and test-environment setup.
- Deposit/payout requests, redirects and transaction authorization.
- Signed callbacks, timeouts, idempotency and status mapping.
- Reconciliation, declined transactions and support diagnostics.
Payment service availability depends on operator eligibility, geography, currency and the processor’s acceptance criteria.
How this connection takes shape
These steps describe the technical questions to resolve. The final implementation and deliverables are defined from the actual systems involved.
Review payment eligibility
Before development, verify the gateway supports the intended business category, countries, currencies and settlement arrangements.
Define request and callback rules
Map payment initiation, customer redirection, webhook signatures, asynchronous confirmation and withdrawal approvals.
Reconcile financial states
Use persistent references for deposits, refunds, payouts and disputes, with clear handling of delayed or contradictory updates.
What we need to review
- Chosen PSP or payment gateway and test account
- Current cashier, wallet and finance-system interfaces
- Required payment methods and settlement currencies
Acceptance cases to plan
- Only authenticated and valid status notifications change a transaction.
- Duplicate webhooks do not produce repeated credits or payouts.
- Support teams can trace a transaction from platform request to gateway reference.
Questions to resolve before delivery
Can we connect a new gateway without replacing our wallet?
Usually the wallet can stay if it supports secure reservation, settlement and reversal events required by the gateway.
Are failed or pending transactions covered?
They must be. Recovery and final-state confirmation are part of the integration design.
Will every gateway accept an iGaming business?
No. Merchant eligibility and jurisdictions are assessed by the payment provider under its own rules and commercial agreement.
Can cards, bank transfers and alternative methods share one API?
An internal interface can offer a consistent set of states, while each method still needs its own redirect, confirmation and exception logic.
